At the time of writing there was no package for firefox3 available from default YUM

Installing FireFox 3 is actually very simple, give up with looking for a package soloution and use this, Clean Simple Easy.

Goto http://www.firefox.com
Download the Linux TAR.GZ package

Press ALT+F2 and type terminal

Now assuming you downloaded the package with firefox to begin with type the following commands in, adjusting the Firefox version as nessasary

cd Downloads
tar -zxvf firefox3-0-0.12.tar.gz
mv firefox3-0-0.12 firefox-2.0.0.14

cp -r /usr/lib/firefox-2.0.0.14 /home/user/firefox-backup
rm -rf /usr/lib/firefox-2.0.0.14 (USE EXTREME CAUTION FORCFULLY REMOVING FILES)
mv firefox-2.0.0.14 /usr/lib/firefox-2.0.0.14

Job done!

If firefox3 dosnt work, simply rm-rf /usr/lib/firefox-2.0.0.14 then mv /home/user/firefox-backup /usr/lib/firefox-2.0.0.14
